Transportation Team

The goals of the Transportation Team were to develop a methodology for determining Atlanta’s total carbon emissions from transport sources, to quantify this amount, and then to provide recommendations for emissions reduction strategies. In order to accomplish this, transportation sources were divided into categories based on their classification, including on-road, transit, rail, and aviation, and data for each was collected from relevant sources within the City of Atlanta.

The Transportation Team is composed of Julie Shorey and Zoe Genet, fourth- and fifth-year undergraduate Civil Engineering students at Georgia Tech, respectively. Both are also pursuing a minor in Sustainable Cities, and have interests in studying active mobility and public transit.
