Energy and Buildings Team

The following assessment of the carbon emissions from energy and buildings in the City of Atlanta was conducted by Bill Huang, Ben Kuperschmid, and Moontashir Siam as part of the Sustainable Cities Studio at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Bill Huang is a fifth year studying Mechanical Engineering, Ben Kuperschmid is a third year studying Mechanical Engineering, and Moontashir Siam is a first year studying Computer Science. 

The Energy and Buildings Team was tasked to quantify the equivalent carbon emissions from energy use and from buildings. In doing so, the team calculated the carbon emissions associated with the energy consumption (scope 2) and natural gas consumption (scope 1).
