Green Spaces Team

Our team consists of three students: Asha McDonald, a 4th Year Architecture Major and Sustainable Cities Minor, Brooke Christiansen, a 3rd Year Computer Science Major and Sustainable Cities Minor, and Alessandra Smith, a 5th Year Environmental Engineer and Sustainable Cities Minor.

Our goal was to assess the green spaces in Atlanta (e.g., parks, nature preserves, green roofs, certified wildlife sanctuaries, etc.) in order to calculate their carbon sequestration potential and make recommendations in accordance with the results of our data analysis. We calculated annual sequestration values citywide, for parks, for green infrastructure, for nature preserves, and for Audubon Society Certified Wildlife Sanctuaries.
